Barts Health NHS Trust
The Royal London Hospital

The Royal London Hospital is a fantastic teaching hospital with an extremely motivated anaesthetics department. There are numerous teaching and training opportunities and a hugely varied mix of patients which we encounter daily.

Amidst the wide choice of surgical specialties, trainees are involved in all lists depending on their seniority and modules required. The hospital is a tertiary referring centre for the North East Thames and some of the Essex areas. It also houses London's Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) on the rooftop helipad bringing in a unique patient load to our workplace, as it is the country's busiest trauma centre. Trainees may also find their skills required in the challenge of the emergency department resuscitation room.
